Scientists have recently discovered what could be the largest and oldest living organism on Earth, a giant fungus that is an interwoven filigree of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles spawned by a single fertilized spore some 10,000 years ago and extending for more than 30 acres in the soil of a Michigan forest.

Sec B:

9.Art museums do not usually think of their collections as capital or consider the interest income that would be generated if a portion of the capital would have been invested in another form.
(A) be generated if a portion of the capital would have been
(B) have been generated if a portion of the capital would have been
(C) be generated if a portion of the capital were
(D) be generated if a portion of the capital was
(E) be generated if a portion of the capital had been

Consider的用法? 为什么是consider sth. that....而不是consider that sth.

15.The increased popularity and availability of televisions has led to the decline of regional dialects, language variations which originate from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated by geographic isolation.
(A) which originate from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated
(B) that originated from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated
(C) originated from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated
(D) originating from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated
(E) originating from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuating

Thanks!

9. 好问题,art museums ... think of ...as...  or consider [the interest] [income] <-- that...,明白了吗。

Any way, A good question!

A.extending
B.extends
C.extended
D.it extended
E.is extending

Choice A, the best answer, preserves grammatical parallelism while allowing for logical expression of temporal relationships; A employs the parallel participial phrases spawned... and extending ... to modify filigree.

第九题为什么consider the interest income中the interest income不是一个词表示利润收吗?

income that would be -----if ----were 这是个以if引导的虚拟语气的句子,从句中用过去时表现在,所以is 用were来表示, 主句中用would+动词原形的形式。
