1.        No matter how patiently they explain their reasons for confiscating certain items, travelers often treat customs inspectors like wanton poachers rather than government employees.

(A) travelers often treat customs inspectors like wanton poachers rather than government employees

(B) travelers often treat customs inspectors as wanton poachers instead of government employees

(C) travelers often treat customs inspectors as if they were not government employees but wanton poachers

(D) customs inspectors are often treated by travelers as if they were wanton poachers rather than government employeesD

(E) customs inspectors are often treated not like government employees but wanton poachers by travelers

改成:customs inspectors are often treated not as government employees but as wanton poachers by travelers,对吗?

treat...as... 把sth/sb看作。

as if接方式状语。

Children are taught to treat their parents and teachers with deference?
The engineer felt that he hadn't been treated fairly.
He treated the animal cruelly.

   not like ...but...

  treat...as...

Longman:

treat

[treat sb/sth+adv/prep,esp.like]to act or behave towards in the stated way

She treat us like children(=as if we were children)

[treat sb/sth+adv/prep,esp.as]to regard or consider in the stated way

Our employer treated our suggestions as a joke.
