23. Of all the possible disasters that threaten American agriculture, the possibility of an adverse change in climate is maybe the more difficult for analysis.

(A) ....

(B) is probably the most difficult to analyze

(C) is maybe the most difficult for analysis.

这题目我倒是做对了，不难。但是，一直不明白它的解释里说的：Maybe must be replaced by probably.  另外，我注意到OG11-2题的解释中说道：Maybe and perhaps are interchangeable; perhaps is slightly more formal.

请问各位，能否告诉一下这三个词有何区别啊？特别是maybe和probably，我纯粹不知道。

MAYBE: used to say that something may happen or may be true but you are not certain  .  synonym perhaps

PERHAPS：used to say that something may be true, but you are not sure。    synonym maybe

看LONGMAN的解释，这两个单词是同义词，唯一的区别就是MAYBE有几种用法是口语，这是怎么回事？

就是说书面语中不倾向于用maybe

用词倾向性 probably>perhaps>maybe

個人一點見解。

用 to 不用 for的原因，

是因為句意當中的 the possibility....is ......

有表 未來會發生的分析，

因此用不定詞to，比較能表現出那種 要去做一件事的邏輯。

用for 好像是說這個負面的氣候改變 是為了分析而存在。

这个在白勇的语法书里也明确地讲到了，在书面语中，如果有Probably和Maybe，

Probably更加正式，倾向于使用probably.这个大概就是习惯，记住就好了。
