我选的是E，觉得cause to do和cause+独立主格好像都差不多，无伤大雅的~

而且觉得D那里应该是cause to rise and to then decline…

被平行结构弄得不清不楚的，唉~但感觉上是要这样才平行...

cause ... to do ...是习惯用法。 在D里面then是副词表明时间顺序。该宾语从句的结构是that the... cause...to rise and then (to此处被省略) decline... 两个to do结构的平行并列。在多个to do 结构的并列时，后面的to在不引起歧义的情况下可以省略。
