如果是形式主语，也只能指代剧中的不定式或者从句，但是我觉得这里是无指代的啊。。

我觉得后半句应该是强调结构：It is/was + 被强调部分（主语、宾语或状语）+ that/who 从句。

原文翻译：在这两颗超新星中，虽然那颗大的被发现得晚一点，但是正是那颗小的超新星颠覆了天文学家对宇宙起源的看法。
