Those are not their core schools, only schools they are going to hire this year. You gotta to talk with recruiters to find out which they are. I used to remember Mckinsey website mention they have 5 core schools 2 years ago, well since the market turned out very ugly after that and they did not hire that many MBA last year, I thought they delete those names. Well, to my surprise at that time is even Columbia is not one of those 5.
But I have seen big posters from BCG, BAIN, MCKIE hanging on the walls, plus 12 other mid size consulting firms. they all have on-campus info session and interviews. Free dinners for everyone!
Those consulting firms will go to all the top 15 or even 20 schools to hire people, all free dinners and free gifts, though. For me, I don't think core school is that meaninful because as long as your school can bring them to the door, it is your case-craking ability to make you get into the door.
