首先谈谈我对这题目的想法，首先我们不看对称，先看using的用法，一般情况下using如果在一个完整的句子中（前面没有逗号）修饰的是靠近自己名词，但是这题目明显是说通过使用某种方式，那么至少也应该使用by using而不是单单使用using。。

平衡的内容我觉得应该是call female moths... rather than, and attract their mates... rather than. 所以我选D。

第二题

你都说了修饰逻辑主语了，所以应该是修饰shields了。举个例子：

For members of the seventeenth-century Ashanti nation in Africa, animal-hide shields with wooden frames were essential items of military equipment in 1680, protecting warriors against enemy arrows and spears.

你说这里的protecting会不会就近修饰1680呢？

这题也可以这样看：因为BY和USE意思重复，冗余，（见OG黄皮20）所以直接排除A B C。再看并列，选D。
