答案是E，这个题怎么考虑啊？哪位朋友能解释一下每个选项为什么对？为什么错？谢谢大家的帮助

A,同位语method of sculpture....找不到先行词，it也找不到所指。
B,as is fostered by modern seed-marketing methods缺少谓语，it找不到所指。
C,strain和practice不能对应。
D,methods用法怪怪的，如作同位语单复数又不一致。
E没有什么问题。

偶也来回答一下，应该和seanql兄差不多
A 选项的明显错误是这里的同位语a practice没有先行词，因为前面是一个主谓结构的句子，没有和practice等价的成分。
B it在这里的语法主语是a single strain of plant，句意变为a single strain of plant increases the likelihood------
C a single strain of plant=a practice,但事实上两者不能划等号。
D 复数形式methods不知道和什么构成等价形式
E the use=a practice, the use increases-----
这题主要考的是同位语结构。
不对之处还请指正.

我又好好考虑了一下，其他选项我没有问题的，可是对于A，为什么不能理解为A PRACTICE是指前面整个IF句子表达的内容呢？如果可以指代IF句子所说的内容，那么A也没问题啊。其他的自由明白为什么错了，谢谢大家再次帮助

用it 指if 引导的句字说不通,it 有歧义. gmat 讲究清楚,简练.

This is a grammar question.
If S+V = Adverb clause
a practice... =Noun phrase

A Noun is unable to modify an Adverb.

It will be better, if you can add question number in your subject title. This is question #338. Recently I find it is very difficult to search prior discussions here.
