答案是D，但D中and also重复，而且 became.....to win.....更像将来发生的事，，而且D中 S.L. became in1990  the first.......,好像在指SL是1909年那年的first woman, 而不是在1909年成为the first woman

我认为,原句中,前半句是状语,后面是主句.而C重变成两个并列句了,另外C中in addition to位置不对,in addition to可能做状语比较好,此处换其它形式可能不错.

是啊， 可是两个并列的句子并没改变句意。

不知道是否不能把状语改变这一说呢

What's wrong with A? "Turning...." is the 状语, then "in 1909.." is the main sentence.

After modifier "Turning....", the position must be the logical subject of "Turning..." and can not be "in 1909"
