which就近修饰farmland不合适吧，原句的意思是systematic clearing of forests gave consumers relatively inexpensive houses and furniture不能改变原句的意思。个人vote for A。倒装语序怎么可以随便改变。

ps的语法上确实挑不出毛病来，但是总觉得语气不对。

which不能只带前面提到的整句话

D created和gave并列，用but it also是因为前面内容说好话，后面内容说不好的，所以有个转折在中间 ，it 指代The systematic clearing of forests

个人觉得是D。A有很知名的错误，就是A的not only ….but also是倒装句，那就是说A确定了not only……, but also的句型。所以but it also肯定是错误的，把it去掉，那A就是标准答案了。明显it多余，重复，并且多主语加指代不清。

C的错误在于which指代不清，因为which优先指代前一个名词，就是farmland,那就完全改变句意（farmland不能gave consumers inexpensive houses and furniture）.即使认为which指代the systematic clearing of forests，也还是不太对。因为原句中2个成份是并列的，而这里不把gave变成了从属成份，注意：插入的定语从句式可以省略而不影响句意的。可是这里gave后面的内容怎么看也是很重要，不可省。

只有C没有语法错误，尽管句子写的并不好，但是我们只能排除错误选项。
