Crap. What would a guy need an admission for, if he was too smart for an MBA? Go ahead, come out with a solution for world poverty. He surely can find a better way to prove himself. Why bother? Certainly there are people who don't need MBA to be successful, and they would be smart enough to know not to aplly in the first place. And for those who did apply, they expected more than the admissions. It's just a joke, and a stupid one, if I may say, especially inappropriate for a dean to tell. It's insulting to the applicants, and disparaging to MBA education. MBA is more than a piece of paper, and a dean should know better. On top of it, he didn't even have the courtesy or the balls to refer to Rotman to make his point. Why? He knew the smartest ones wouldn't aplly Rotman? Try it, "As the dean of Rotman, I think the smartest ones would turn down our offers after getting admitted." and see what would happen. |
