A hot and important controversy is centering on whom in my country，China, to set a status for.Among countless people that we should remember and respect,I would like to set a status for Confucius,who was one of the most important philosopher in our country’s 5000 years history.I would present the concrete reasons for my choice.

The first plain truth,I am presenting here,is that Confucius had changed our country’s education policy in all aspects.His thoughts and views have influenced the education of our country until now.In his time,the Zhanguo period in our country,the country was devided into many small countries,which causes a lot of wars between those countries.People in this period showed no interest in learning,Confucius,however,had known the importance of education,and ready to share his views about knowledge.In the peer time,he has 3000 students learning and living with him,those students together all have produced much influence on the future education of China.

Furthermore,behind my preference to Confucius lies another equally important factor that he used to travel around different countries and gain his knowledge by that.He had learned the skill of dealing with wood,repair houses,and learned different languages as well.By the traveling,he had learned much more about the society and the poor people,and therefore become one of the most important philosopher throughout our country.

Finally,despite the fame and prestige Confucius had already have,he was always modest,and ready to learn from other people.Among various examples is the most conspicuous one.He used to consult with Lao Tzu,another important philosopher,and they had gained a lot from this famous conversation.After this talk,Confucius gave a goose to Lao Tzu as a gift to show his respect and appreciation.What a modest person Confucius is?

In conclusion,to show my respect and appreciation to Confucius,one who had changed the whole education system and influenced a lot about our society,I would like to set a status for him.
