想请教大家一道之前jj出现的题目，

The population of Inida, ( ), is...
- accounting for 50% of...
- which accounts for..
... 一致，想问下，到底选which还是accounting for,
RON 的笔记里面，which应该可以，因为population 是核心词，但是accounting for 是否更好呢？ RON也说过：

Can the COMMA+ING ever modify the touching noun?
- If the modifier comes after a clause, then no.
- If it just follows a noun (NOT a clause), then yes, it can:

还是说accounting for 必须修饰直接直接在前的词语而不管是不是核心词，比如之前有一道：

scientists, having amassed... 为正确答案

可能看起来不清楚，括号是需要选择的部分，也就是要么 population of India, which accounts for 50% of blabla, is blabla 或者 population of india, accouting for 50% of blabla, is blabla

which并不能指代population，只能指代India

同意楼上的，which只能就近指代India

which不就近指代前面的名词，而指代前面的noun clause很少见，我只碰到过一次，Ron大神解释必须得是completely unambiguous的时候才能这么用，这里不适用。
