Prep题里有一个正确选项是"not only, but",,,是给错了吗?

我一看到"not only"就会想到"but also",,,这不是哪个字都不能缺的固定搭配吗?怎么答案会选C呢?

说明gmac认为also可以省略~~~

其他选项没有to do to do,不平行肯定错

不会吧...我上XDF的班,,,老师曾千叮万嘱说not only but also里哪个字都不能省的呀...而且之前做过一些题好象错的没这么协忽的,省了一个字的都错了...any other reason?

而且我记得好像og里面是有省略的情况的，我一下找不到哪题

所以要先看是否平行

A:not only,but also比较动词时，不需要加they（因为主语不变）,而且即使加they也应该是sicentists not only were able to transform the gas into a solid, they but also created而且这里语态不平行

E同理错

But和also分开有两种情况：

一种是Prep117题not only did A do,but it also do倒装句型

另一种是并列两个不同主语的见http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?BoardID=23&ID=116586&replyID=1119518&skin=1这个帖子第5条

这道题选were able not only to transform....but(also) to creat是比较两个动词不定式或者说是短语中的一部分，见这个帖子第6条
