need help: evaluate my chance for Phd. Thank you!

Hi, folks.

I need help in evaluating my chance to get offers of phd programs. I do appreciate your help!

I have a B.E. in Computer Science (3.5/4.0)from Tsinghua University. M.S. in Computer Science (3.5/4.0)from a top 20 univeristy at USA. M.S. in Operations Research and Statistics (4.0/4.0) from a top 50 university at USA and a MBA in Finance and Accounting (4.0/4.0)from a top 50 University in USA. GMAT: 720

3 journal papers(2 in computer science & 1 in economics) publlished together with 4 working papers(2 in computer science and 1 in biostatistics and 1 in operations research). 1 patent (863 national program). 3rd place in national business competition. 4 years TA experience in USA. 5 years RA experience in USA and in China. 1 year full time work in IBM. Strong in computer science and mathematics.

I want to apply Phd in Finance or Phd in Accounting or Phd in Marketing. I can try schools around top 20? or it is too competitive for me?

OMG,I have never seen a person who owns more degrees than you do!
But actually, the MBA in a top 50 University will only do harm to your background. Usually, a MBA below top 20 isn't worthy the money and time.
PhD in accounting is relatively easier than PhD in finance.
So I guess you may try top 50 for finance and top 30 for accounting and marketing
Usually, it is not good for you to apply to more than one program in the same university, 'coz it will reveal a lack of your focus and final goal.

背景很好，把finance top40的都申了吧，如果申marketing，top15没问题。

since u r already in US, it is better and easier to contact yr friends in top b-school's phd programs. i donot think yr mba is worthless, since most b-school recruits mbas to their phd program. at least here, in Europe, it is quite common. therefore, what can i say then? good luck.
