答案是C，我选E。为什么是A 呢？ C: base on compartions of ....with ;E :base... on comparing ...with 这样不对吗?

答案是A.请问为什么E不对呢?我觉得A和E的意思应该是一样的: A中的what指代land,E中的that也指代land.只是我觉得A中的to what 的TO 好象应该去掉呢?

7, base ... on sth, on doing sth 是在gmat里不行的.

21, 我的理解是后面的to跟前面的to是并列成份,应该是指ownership而非land,这个句子是ownership of land,而非land is ownership.这也解释了e为什么错.

7.  LZM语法书上说名词和动名词的区别在于前者强调状态，后者强调动作
      这里compartions强调对比状态，comparing强调比的动作，按照句子意思，肯定名词好

   21。我开始也选E，看答案后想的解释，可能比较牵强：
         E中的that可以修饰land或者communal ownership，（不知道能不能修饰communal ownership of land，请高手指点），但是根据句子意思，应该是communal ownership of land是一种 pre-Columbian form of ownership 。用that不如用to what好，to what作为对前面a return to communal ownership of land的一种解释，这里what明显指代communal ownership of land，我也不知道解释的对不对，解释的是否清楚，高手来指点

e中的that,照语法是修饰land,照句意是修饰ownership,gmat里一般是避免这种模棱两可的情况的.

to dreadpower, 修饰communal ownership of land不就是修饰ownership吗?呵呵
