The Illinois MBA does not conduct phone interviews or off-campus interviews at this time.

Please note if you are planning to have lunch preceded by a tour of the Quad with a student, lunch times are 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You will need to schedule this online along with your interview. If you are interested in lunch and a tour, please plan your schedule accordingly.

不去interview是不是不太好阿??
                                                                               
可是去了無論時間或金錢上都是一筆不小的成本~就為了短短三十分鐘
                                                                               
我想問一下~interview invitation是經過初步審核基本條件後(已經通過初選了)
                                                                               
才發出的嘛?還是是例行性的(每個applicant都會收到~)?
                                                                               
又不去(他寫說not required)會影響申請嘛?
                                                                               
一般去on-campus interview成功機率怎樣?

hi, I had the same situation. And I wrote to ask if I can get phone interview. The admission officer replied few days earlier that they could accept a few phone interviews, so I filled in the interview schedule next week. You should try to write to them as well.

This is NOT an interview invitation

it's only a campus tour recommendation PLUS a face-to-face interaction with any given adcom.

Since it clearly stated the interview is not required

Although it'll add some positive perception between applicants and the school

it should not affect the admission decision since it'll be not fair to other applicants who don't attend campus tour.

This suggestion is instead the school tries to create a personal experience for prospective students, and to generate the positive emotional bond that when applicants receive more than one admissions, they'll prefer this school due to the emotional engagement.

You don't have to go, and although you schedule the phone interview, since it also clearly stated the program doesn't conduct phone interviews at this time, it also shouldn't affective the result that it'll be only a talk to create positive relationship.
