求教：关于逻辑主语的问题

是不是不管从句用什么形式，都要和主句逻辑主语一致？我以前以为只有分词结构的需要。。。

比如

GWD3-Q27:

Competition in the mid-nineteenth century by large western farms gradually caused farmers in Pennsylvania to turn to livestock raising, but before that it was predominantly grain-producing.

Once predominantly a grain-producing state, competition in the mid-nineteenth century from large western farms gradually was causing Pennsylvania’s farmers to turn to livestock raising. “后面competition作前面短语的逻辑主语,意思不符”

引号里的是别人的解释

前面是名词短语，后面也要逻辑主语一致么？迷惑中。。。
