Pretty simple ..but like to know wats the correct idiom here

B和C都似乎是对的，语法应该是没有任何错误，但是答案是B

我想，是不是因为逻辑的问题，在 hostility to it in rural regions disappeared 之前，PROVE已经完成？

I think B is the best answer here. first, two things are talked here: (a) usefulness, (b) superiority. When talking about (a), it used a complete sentense: "the .. usefulness was demonstrated", as a consequence, to talk about (b), there must be a complete sentense to keep parallelism; second, "had been" emphasizes that the event happened before the other (usefuless ... demonstrated), which is logic and precisely presents the meaning of the sentense.   So the correct answer is only B.

首先，and前后要对称，这里显然是连接前后两个句子，usefulness was demonstrated and 一个句子

所以，如果是c的话，后面这个proved就不是一个分词短语，而是一个谓语动词。我们知道，prove的确可以用主动形式表示被动含义，比如I prove innocent. 我被证明是无辜的。但是，这个形式应该是sb./sth. prove adj. ，这个adj.是不可以省的，e.g. I proved这句句子是不对的，所以C不对，所以答案选B。
