这题我认为是在考句子结构，ABC选项没有疑问。

D选项错误的原因，我认为even though与前面的although重复，都是从句。

E选项的句子结构是这样了：although…, they act…, but they accelerate…，这个句子结构很奇怪，第一次见。

三个分句中第一个是although引导的从句，中间是主句，但后面又跟一个but引导的并列分句。不知道这算不算run-on sentence？或者一个从句后面可以跟两个并列的主句？

觉得E这个句子别扭很可能是因为

although 本来就不能接着 but 用。

关于并列主句或者分句的用法，我想应该是对的。

比如：***** and ***** and ******

（虽然好像是GMAT里面没有见到过）

(1)although…, (2)they act…, (3)but they accelerate…

单独(1)+(2), 或者(2)+(3)都是没问题的，但连起来就不知道了。（由and连接的三个并列句子没问题）

所以想知道这是不是run-on sentence。

(1)although…, (2)they act…, (3)but they accelerate…

不考虑语意，只看结构是吧？那么，这一表达必有一从句没有主句， 是fragment.

因为有时候单凭语意来判断选项，真是很危险的一件事情。

其实极少有选项没有语法问题的。

这个句子中的分词结构acting as...只能修饰in that they reflect and absorb solar radiation，没有歧义。

如果要往后修饰主句they also accelerate...，那么必须在Although...从句与acting as...之间加上连词，因为这都是修饰主句的状语（前者是状语从句，后者是分词结构状语），没有连词无法并列存在。
