topic 138 当团队的领袖还是成员好 The issue of team cooperation, which is in most cases considered as a imperative quality in modern society, has already aroused much concern. It is not so unexplainable, therefore, to argue some particular problems, such as the choice between being a member of a group and the leader of that. As far as I am concerned, I would prefer becoming the leader rather than a member in a team. Among various reasons for my choice there are two most obvious ones that can be illustrated as follows. On the one hand, it is well-known that the leader holds a critical position as well as a strongest voice. The suggestion could exert a far-reaching influence on policies of the team; the plans could be put in practice more easily and rapidly; the figure and actions of the leader could set an example for all the members. And consequently, he/she could obtain more opportunities to have the ability improved. In addition to raise one’s ability, being a leader could also provide more chances to communicate with others. Having more exposure to the outside world, a director could get acquainted with people from all walks of life, which is tremendously helpful to his/her own development. The more social experience they own, the more information they have well in hand. As known to all, rich information is the key to success. On the contrary, the range of a team member’s interpersonal relationship might be narrower and more limited. In certain circumstances, they may lose precious chances which can only be possessed by high-level persons. Indeed it is undeniable that people in high places have to endure more pressures than ordinary people. Furthermore, the leader must take the responsibility for failure. However, given the possibility of personal improvement, I believe that the potential benefits of being a leader outweigh the risks.
