1题考点主要是代词指代，Although she had been ......，那么she 必须有所指，这需要在主句的主语中马上反映出来，故 Barbara Jordan’s 所有格必错。另外还要注意It是否有明确指代等问题。

2题：D. While the rate of mainstream American businesses failing is more than half 非常awkward, failing用的有问题，整个句子的表达也象是非常口语话，我一看这个选项就立即排除。
E 的表达非常简洁，逻辑层面上构成了对比（可不要一味拘泥于形式~！）。
