We are sure your mother love you,but she maybe put her dream on you. I think you should find youself, who are you, what you interest in, then go the way which you like most. I take 4 years to learn the major which chosed by my father and 3 years work on my major area, at last I escaped from that. Until now I can enjoy my work and life.
We need motivation to push our life forward. For this part, we live for our dreams. Because our dreams instill us endless energy and inner-drive, and save us from declining to nonsense life and job.
As richal said, try your best to find yourself as early as possible. Only have you figured out what you are most interested in, you are able to gain true impulse for your life.
yeah, i am here for my dream, but that doesn't mean a shit american dream. you can find many pretty dream here - china. for some girls, america could be a nightmare, as some of them finally have to marry american. that is horrible.
