请教，simon的English program

今天收到simon的offer，除了通知被录取和获得schlarship的信息外，还要求正式开学之前参加一个英语和文化的program：

“Based on our assessment of your candidacy for the M.B.A. program, we require that you enroll in our English language program prior to commencing graduate study in September 2007.  Our 5-week pre-M.B.A. cultural immersion program, English Language and U.S. Culture (ELUSC) stressing English conversation and comprehension must be completed prior to entering the program.”——摘自simon的offer letter

请教各位大虾，特别是申请simon的，请问你们也被要求参加这个program了吗？这是否是中国学生所必须的呢？谢谢

I heard the program is very expensive. But it seems if you want to go Simon , you have no choice to refuse the program.
