如果从多伦多大学MBA毕业, 从事技术或相关consulting工作的前景如何?

请教各位对咨询业的了解:

本人国内时, 在一个大的国际通信企业做移动通信方面的技术咨询, 主要客户是中国移动和中国联通. 做了6年, 现在在申请学习MBA, 由于已经30+, 对自己的职业设计, 觉得:

1) 走finance或金融机构不现实, 以前没有这方面的经验, 毕业后需要从零坐起, 机会成本太大

2) 想走consulting, 不知各位对选择consulting有什么建议没有? 在咨询公司, 里面又分为管理, 战略和IT技术咨询等. 请问各位, 如果从多伦多大学Rotman MBA毕业, 从事consulting工作的前景如何?

我也是IT背景的，也挺关注这个问题。

我的一种理解是，如果之前没有在北美工作过的经验，MBA后想在北美找个与自己学历和之前国内工作背景符合的工作恐怕不易。哪个专业背景的恐怕都是如此。

I am also in this dilemma. technical consulting are very diffrent from consulting in fincance and invetment.

We have to change something or find another niche sector for focusing on.

I believe U of Toronto is a core school of management consulting firms for their Canadian offices, but you will need to compete with native English speakers to get a spot, which is supposedly very tough.

I don't think it's a core school for the firms' China offices (which mostly recruit from US schools plus INSEAD/LBS), so the outlook of landing consulting jobs for Chinese students may be dim.

But don't take my words for it, since I'm not from the school. Ask their current students and alums for the latest job placement info.

此人100%移民，还在问这么天真的问题，我告诉你，99%没希望。

作为移民，一是踏踏实实打工或者创业，要有偷渡民的心态，你才有可能三年后立足。

二是吃不了苦，回去。告诉你，三年内北美经济肯定回落，老格先生最近已经表态美国经济要走下坡，上周股市的表现是911来最差的，虽然中国跌在前，但是和中国没关系，只是个引子。但是中国还有一点希望，要看能不能扩大内需，自主创新和品牌管理。

我最近听到了太多加拿大移民MBA的悲惨故事了，几乎80%找不到工作。前几天遇到个YORK的，五年了没上过一天班，更有个UBC的，找了半年没着落，昨天很悲愤的说能不能去做家政或拉保险，听了很让人伤感。我感觉安慰她，自古来成功人士全是自己创业的，为什么不搞个SMALL BUSINESS呢？
