不告诉老师也不可能。到时候他们发现当初信誓旦旦要搞学术的你对找工作实习考证书的劲头更大，不知道会不会给小鞋穿啊。让你多做些时间苦工晚点毕业。。。要知道这样的学生他们可见多了。

Don't do this.
Only those top schools which admit 4 or more students each year can afford couple of their graduates eventually go to industry.
For most schools, they admit only two or three students and expect them fight hard in academic research after they graduate.
Therefore, unless you are exceptionally good candidate, your chance to get offer from most programs would be killed simply by saying you want to go to industry.

In addition, there are tons of exceptionally good applicants in finance phd, so doing such thing is just stupid.

From the view of professors, they hope their graduates can publish academic papers in order to promote their university reputation. If you go to industry,.......why do they invest you?
