[备考日记] nebelstreifs iBT preparation diary (Sep.)

Encouraged by Zixi, i am trying to keep a preparation diary of my own. As i wanna make the best use of this notion, means to boost myself and to practice the writing in the mean time, i will write in english.  

Lets see what i have done today:

I installed the Universal Toefl 2.0 today and also tried the academic listening and the reading part, which turned out to be a quite odd trial. First, there are too many pauses within the lecturing process, and each pause is long enough to drive me mad. Secondly, it seems the scoring system dosent work properly. I've got a result overview like 12 correct out of 10 with a correct answer rate of 120%, oh my goodness! As to the detail, there are so many answer status are just "not seen", so i have no idea if my answers are correct or not. Has anyone else encountered such problems?

Also i tested my screen reading pace, using a friend's doctoral thesis as the academic reading material, and my pace is 680 words/7 minutes, with somewhat understanding, which needs solid improvement.  

Later i will do more vocabulary building before going to bed, still with the first two lists, but i just got them yesterday.

I guess in a couple of days, i will become busy at work again, will have less time to read stuff in the daytime. But i will catch up in the evening. I am actually a nocturnal bird, always stay up very late ;-) I noticed that shanxianluori once mentioned our mainland test taker will take the test from 6 pm to 10 pm, is it true?

Thanks to tropicalfish and shanxianluori, i successfully downloaded and installed Kaplan and Article Recitation 2006 today. Due to the 5-hour-sleep last night i suffered a slight headache the whole day, and had to push myself to do the test. The listening tracks are indeed very long and it aggravated my headach, but i did my best to pull through, and the result was 85% correct, which was quite surprsing. I think i just had some Schweinglueck (pig's luck, is there such a say ing in english?), for with two academic lectures i couldnt remember much detail while answering. So, to keep concentrating throughout the listening is really important, but i am too tired for it today.    

Hope i can go to bed earlier this eve and get refreshed tomorrow.

大陆考区晚上考IBT应该是大陆某些考点有这个说法，目前还没得到官方正实。不过根据IBT目前的机经看，全球同一天的IBT题目是一样的，为了防止泄题，大陆的确很可能会在晚上考，当然因为IBT差不多要4个小时，所以全球各个考区的实际考试时间也会有几小时的差异。

在职备考，时间要靠挤了，楼主加油！
