小声的说一句，我就住在NJ，一看见NJ就觉得这个city 怎么这么眼熟啊，一定和Trenton 很近。

我一定是得了早老性痴呆了。

我想问下为什么that一定是修饰communities的呢？ that如果是修饰Trenton的话用is不是也可以嘛？

那么the only one of XX(pl.) that ...后到底用单数还是复数呢，恳请高手解决

"that"有可能指X也有可能指Y.
我覺得要看句意, 沒有一套mechanical的方法去判斷

- modify Y
    - In virtually all types of tissue in every animal species, dioxin induces the production of enzymes that are organism’s attempt to metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant. (OG10#6)
    - The list of animals that exhibit a preference for using either the right or the left hand (i.e., claw, paw, or foot) has been expanded to include the lower vertebrates. (P1#6)
    - Although the vast constellation of small islands that dot the South Pacific has a population of only a few million people, it is home to about a sixth of the world's 6,000 or so languages. (P1#143)

- modify X
    - According to two teams of paleontologists, recent fossil discoveries in Pakistan show that whales, porpoises, and dolphins are more closely related to some of the oldest known even-toed ungulates--a group of hoofed mammals that today includes cows, camels, pigs, and hippos--than to any other mammals. (P1#123)

那么这道题从意思上理解

the but（only） one of pl. that...是不是用单数更好一些呢？前面有only啊

個人覺得如果that是指代one of a large number of communities, 那沒必要寫"of a large number of communities", 真接寫Trenton...is but one community that...
如果那些communities是沒啥特別, 那就是一般的communities, 如果是一般的communities, 就不會用a large number
