我觉得这里只体现有两种用法（1）as a result of（2）result from,而且都是前果后因，都正确

increase的用法也都正确，increasing我觉得是形容词，修饰sea surface

 an increase in  OG上有很多例子，比如

as a result of与result from都对的。这题A中的resulting分词结构修饰dwindling food supplies也没有语法上的错误。

醉兄，刚才经过一翻讨论，偶对这道题的A又有了新的理解：它不符合逻辑意思。

temperatures increase导致的结果是“食物减少”（food supplies dwindling），而不是“减少了的食物”(dwindling food supplies)。

仔细体会一下。

我认为这道题a,b,c三个选项的主要差别就在逻辑含义上

重看这题我觉得A错在dwindling food supplies   此题的考点应在diction

i think “food supplies are dwindling” is more correctly and effectively reflect the apprpriate part of speech.

或者我们可以说: suffer from the shortage of the food

IMO逻辑表达区别确实存在，但如果因此说A有逻辑错误，似乎有点牵强。

dwindling food supplies的中心词在于food supply,那么suffering from dwindling food supplies就变成了suffer from food supply，逻辑不通。用because从句能够清晰突出动作，从而避免逻辑谬误呢？

再看了一遍，觉得是不是resulting from是修饰前句主语study，但as a result of修饰宾语从句的内容呢？

OG的题目：

答案对A的resulting from是这么解释的：

Because it is introduced by a participle．the phrase that begins resulting from illogically modifies later generations．

但是两个resulting from的位置不同。。

另外，好像OG里面很少用increasing这种说法，表上升会说rising, soaring，是不是GMAT不是很prefer increasing的缘故。。
