OG10 36:问个与选项并无关系的语法问题

36. Bufo marinus toads, fierce predators that will eat frogs, lizards, and even small birds, are native to South America but were introduced into Florida during the 1930’s in an attempt to control pests in the state’s vast sugarcane fields.

我的问题是：原文中 will eat frogs......为什么要用will呢？我觉得应该是一般现在时更好啊。

我觉得这是个讲稿，不是论文。

用will应该是一个和听众的互动关系吧

另注：俺不是牛

根据我的理解这是一句节略句．意思是＂起初Ｂ是为了熄灭小昆虫而引进的，但在未来他可能会发展成消灭较大动物的捕猎者＂．

注意　will eat...even ...的语气递进．

According to our common sense, we know that  frogs, lizards, and small birds are NOT pests.   

if using 一般现在时, 那就是说 frogs, lizards, and small birds  ARE pests, which is obviously wrong.

我觉的如果是“以什么什么为食的话”的确是一般现在时比较好，但是个人觉的feed on更好

用will可能时强调“会”，而不是时态上的“将”

想来想去我觉得是这样的，之所以用will是因为强调toads是fierce predator，will用在这里有加强语气的作用吧。
