...and D, employing the present perfect tense, suggests that the situation of triple authorship is no longer the case....

我认为现在完成时是持续到现在的啊，怎么OG认为已经不存在了呢？

I 've been there. 和 I was there。的区别是什么呢？

我认为后者是已结束的动作，前者和现在应该有联系吧。

从正确答案来看，represent表示一种常态，不是represent这个动作过去是，现在是，将来还是（这也正是一般时的特点）。

has done表示一个动作发生在过去持续到现在，并有可能继续持续下去。

但是是否将来继续持续下去是不定的，这与本句想表现的感觉（一种常态）不同。所以不对。

就是对解释中的 no longer the case 有疑问？

好，我们继续讨论下去。

og之所以说no longer the case,前提是因为对于has done地用法有两种解释。

1一个动作发生在过去，已经完成，并对现在产生影响。

2一个动作发生在过去持续到现在，并有可能继续持续下去。

og显然只考虑了解释1，既然是过去发生的，所以og说no longer the case。

但是如果我们考虑全面，正如楼上所说，用解释2，也不对。

所以represent最好!

用present perfect.

1) 若有表示一段时间的词, 如: for the last three decades; since 70's;
2) 于simple past连用, 而且需要表示一段时间. 如: I was a novice of GMAT, but I have improved dramatically.

现在完成时可用于表示从过去某个时间发生的动作，一直持续到现在（如since），也可表示在一个时间段内完成的的动作(如for),还可表示在过去某个不确定时间点完成的动作，如果这题中用完成时，则会成为第3中情况
