lets not talk about fabricating something in essays, obviously it is a caveat here. well, i believe people are allowed to 'beautify' their raw materials to bring out the best part of their experience, i.e. what you think is more important than what you do. many successful essays I've seen are those putting common experience in new and inspirational perspectives. so even if what we did was not magnificent (believe me, most mba applicants are normal people), we still can find a few shining points. And the extend to which you can magnify your experience is a judgement call...you may go some further, but not too far to be spotted by the adcom as unreal. after all they read through tons of essays and have intuition to know what is true and what not. |
