x forbids y to do

E.g. I forbid you to go.

x prohibits y

E.g. Modesty prohibits me from saying what happened.

forbid, ban, prohibit

The doctor forbids him to smoke.

Ban atomic and nuclear weapons!

Prohibit

The soldiers were prohibited from leaving camp after dark.

prohibit x to do y: do y

prohibit x from doing y: doing y

同问,A的结构就是prohibit x to do y的形式,为什么说不对呢?OG后面的解释明明说是OK的啊(Either of the following constructions would be idiomatic here: x forbids y to do z or x prohibits y from doing z. )

(A) prohibiting landfills to accept leaves, brush, and grass clippings
