正确答案是D，OG答案说A选项的意思是similarity就是a rapid movement of people，可是我觉得很难理解，求大神指教！

首先 A选项不合逻辑，make no sense ,A的意思是这一地区这个artcrafts的相似性能把解释为北美人口的movement，实际上句子要表达的意思是北美人口的movement 能够解释这一地区artcrafts 的相似这个情况，理解么，从句意理解，A错了。

XX be explained as XX这个就是A选项的结构，所以说OG解释A选项意思错了。
B里面有个being且不是being正确用法，杀。
C里面is explainable as就是一滩……杀。
E同B杀

be explained as是什么意思呢？难道不是“被解释为“吗？还是说这是个错误搭配？

网上找了一下没有explain...as...的句子，我感觉explain...as...和regard...as...类似
I regard her as a good worker，那么her和good workers是同一样事物，是同样的概念。
我的理解是，be explained as不是"被解释为"的意思，而是"被解释成...",所以similarity和rapid movement是同一样的事物才可以这么用[如果真有这么一个搭配的话]，而本题中，similarity和rapid movement是不一样的事物，所以是not idiomatic的

对句子的逻辑把握不好很容易做错的，例如我就是....

另外看了一下其他论坛，说be explained BY，所以把A排除

B里面，句子要强调的是similarity，但是B的重点变成了artifacts，也不对

另外补充一下这题的逻辑：现有rapid movement of people再有similarity of artifacts .就像OG上面说的： the similarity of artifacts may be a consequence of the rapid population movement

以上这两句的句型都是 Can A be explained as B? 发现没有A和B都是可以置换的同类事物， i.e., the Maximum Entropy Principle = a consistency requirement & apparent superluminal neutrino speeds = a quantum weak measurement.
但是带回到这道题目你能说 the similarity of artifacts = a repaid movement of people吗？显然不能，只能说人口的流动导致了古迹的相似性。Hope it helps.

Here are some genuine examples of ‘explained as’ and ‘explained by’

Examples for ‘explained by’
