as作比较时的省略问题，两道OG题的困惑

看了好久了

实在是搞不明白为什么第一题里的they did不能省略，而第二题里的as (it did)in its return of...里的it did可以省略，ron说能省略的部分必须是exact the same words，但是第一题如果C选项是as (they never evolved) in most other developed countries ,也可以说的通啊

第一题，C为什么不对？
其关键点并不在于they did该不该省，或者违背了原句的本意。
而在于什么是比较。比如，我和楼主长得一模一样，连DNA检测都一样，那么比较就没有任何意义。
所以比较就是要去比较两个事物的不同之处。
我在美国不打麻将就像我在其他国家不打麻将一样。这句话就是一句废话，你完全可以直接说我从不打麻将。
而
我在美国不打麻将，而我在其他国家都打麻将。这句话才有意义，因为强调的是不同，这才出现了比较的概念。

这也是为什么C不对的原因。

再来看第二题：

第二题里的as (it did)in its return of...里的it did可以省略，ron说能省略的部分必须是exact the same words

介词短语放句首，那么判定是倒装句，我们首先还原它
Halley's Comet caused such a worldwide sensation in no other historical sighting as did its return in 1910-1911.

楼楼首先得看出来是什么在做比较。
哈雷彗星引起了如此大的关注是在1910-1911那次回归，而不是在其他次的回归。
那么就可以看出是在比较状语
in no as in its return
Halley's Comet caused such a worldwide sensation in no other historical sighting as Halley's Comet caused such a worldwide sensation in its return of 1910-1911.
ron说能省略的部分必须是exact the same words
你把后面一省略，就是正确句子的样子了。

用个更简单的句子

Caixukun played so well in no other plays as in the Idle Producer of 2018.
Caixukun played so well in no other plays as Caixukun played so well in the Idle Producer of 2018.

Caixukun played so well in no other plays as did the Idle Producer in 2018.
Caixukun played so well in no other plays as Caixukun played the Idle Producer in 2018.
