如图，此题C错了，给的理由是“ not only ,,,but also 中间是不能加内容的”不太懂，求大神。。。

not only ...but also 这种结构是最容易判断的...和数学公式一样

not only 跟啥，but also 后也要跟类似结构

Not only did i pass the test,but also I became a legend among the test takers.  这是跟句子...都必须有sv结构

I passed not only the gmat test ,but also the IBT test. 名词

I not only passed the test, but also became an expert of the test. 动词...

I passed the test not only on Monday ,but also on Wednesday . 介词结构
形容词，副词...都没问题

上面都是我自己造的句子，只是说明 not only,but also 的基本用法就这样

这道题目

had the greatest admiration for  MG not only as ....一看到这，如果后面是but also结构，那一定是but also as .....  但c选项是 but Tagore was also 。。。完全结构上不对称，逻辑上也不对称
即便改成but also Tagore was 还是错误，还是不能和前面的not only as 对称来修饰had the greatest admiration for  MG

not only...but also...对称结构吧，如果是C的话就变成 As politician...和后面一个句子并列了，不合理；

1.在正常语序中: not only ... but also 应连接两个相对称的并列成分。
例如: Not only Mr Lin but also his son joined the Party two years ago. (连接两个主语) I not only play tennis but also practise shooting. (连接两个谓语动词)
He plays not only the piano but also the violin. (连接两个宾语)

在正常语序中: 短语本身不可以加入其它成份,比如变成:not only...but it also...是错误的(因为破坏了平衡)。但在倒装结构中，可以这样用。
Not only does the sun give us light, but it also gives us heat. Not only did he speak English correctly, but he also speaks it fluently.
