正确答案：far exceed those that humans could consume

我的问题是对于这个those的指代，到底是指代amounts还是指代carcinogens。我认为是指代amounts啊，因为those是核心词指代嘛，可是如果those指代amounts的话那么amounts就要在that引导的定语从句中充当consume的宾语，变成人们消耗的amounts，这逻辑上又说不通啊，不应该人们消耗的致癌物更加合理吗？

比较的可比性，这题首先肯定是数量的比较才有exceed对嘛？那数量只能数量比，1只和牛不能比，1只和2只比，这很容易理解吧？所以those只能指代amounts
不用去纠结人类怎么能consume amounts这个东西啊，amounts又不是吃的，有不是喝的只是个数量，这你就错了。
the amount of sth that human can consume 和 sth that human can consume语法都没错，但其实是两个意思，第一个重点在数量，第二个重点在sth。人类可以消耗的量，很合理，是本题要表达的意思。

amounts of carcinogens, 是典型的 noun prep noun结构，后面的名词出现在介词短语里，此时不可以作为后面代词的先行词（antecedent），曼哈顿里代词和先行词那一章有强调过的
