不对呀，我觉得答案是E呀

quantities of是可以修饰复数的，amount（s）of 是不可以的；刘振民语法里也没有说到quantities of不能修饰可数名词复数，请看到刘振民〈GMAT语法改错精解〉P22 第4行

E 一上来就应该排除的.

原文的意思是对富人和穷人的传染差不多. 但E把句子改成传染富人也传染穷人. 两个意思不一样.

quantities形容人不太符合语法习惯. number很顺.
