I'm puzzled on the choice between B and D.

应该选D。B有如果要并列to distinguish & to make中间那个插入的as a result很别扭。AKW
而D把两个关系的因果，先后顺序说得很清楚。
记住。SC一定是琢磨意思上的微小差别。

首先，SO。。。 THAT 句型，排除A
hampers 和results 的主语都是it (the conversational pace of everyday life may be so brisk)，排除BE。
而不选C的原因是一个短句，频繁地更换主语换了，读起来太复杂难懂。

D里面and results如果成立的话，前面好像不用逗号。
而且，从逻辑上说，pace导致make no sense不通。应该是pace太brisk，导致阻碍了小孩的两个能力：1、区分 2、理解

应该选B,
D错在有逗号的话后面并列的需要是完整的句子，而and后面的部分没有主语。

去掉逗号间的插入，to make很清晰的与to distinguish并列
D. that it hampers the ability of some children to distinguish discrete sounds and words, and results in not making
逗号将句子断开，results与hampers并列，逻辑意思不通，且改变了原句的意思。
