又一道关于it指代的问题orz

这道题选C可以理解，只是B当中，可不可以根据it的指代来进行排除呢？第一个it指代asteroid，第二个it因为和part of the planet平行，所以指代part of the planet，导致全句中的代词指代的名词不一致，所以错误……求NN们解答，不知道这种判断对不对呢……（代词真是万年的纠结啊）

你抽一下主句：scientists have identified an asteroid (that is half a mile wide and part of the plant could experience damage but it would not cause destruction.)
我觉得这里的it代指的是逻辑主语asteroid
不是很确定，坐等NN

我也觉得后面it根据平行原则应该是指代asteroid的。这道题的解题根本是在平行。
