这道题目为什么不能选A呢？

这题主，要考逻，辑主语的问题。
前面这部，分是状，语修饰句中的谓语动词。CD直接歧义scholars用accountsofvariousancientwriters来painta sketchypicture是不，可能的，accounts又不是笔或者颜料。
A用了based on表，明主语跟based是动宾关，系而事实上应该是asketchypictures才应该是basedo naccountsofvariousa ncientwriters的。故A错。
B我觉得没啥逻辑错误毕竟整句中只有asketchpicture一个单数名词在主语或者宾语的核心次位置上，但是没有E简单直接。

哦，我理解成scholars based on了，原来应该是a sketchypicture based on，略搞
