先贴原题：

131. Although the term "psychopath" is popularly applied to an especially brutal criminal, in psychology

it is someone who is apparently incapable of feeling compassion or the pangs of conscience.

(A) it is someone who is

(B) it is a person

(C) they are people who are

(D) it refers to someone who is

(E) it is in reference to people

这里我的疑问是：Ron曾经说过，有一类句子的“it”不指代任何名词。其中就包括

it +(TO BE VERB)+noun+that/who...

eg.It + was my own brother + who committed the crime.

这里的A选项在我看来也是这种结构，所以我选了A。求大神解惑！！！！！

我自己思考了一下，觉得应该这样理解：
it做dummy subject，目的是为了强调该主语。因此，这里如果看成是强调句型，
那么句子结构就变成了“Although...，in phychology someone is apparently incapable of feeling compassion or the pangs of conscience”主句和从句脱离，没有任何联系。
因此这里的It必须指代前面从句中的 term。

不知道这样理解对不对，等待大神回答

对于指代某个词组的意思的时候我们推荐使用的是refer to

谢谢指教，你说得对，但是因为原文中出现了非常像强调句形式的句子，因此让我理解上也出现了偏差。
