看了很多帖子的各种分析，想写一下自己对这道题目的分析，请各位大牛们指正！
这道题目，很多人错在看到more than就认为是比较，所以一直想要做parallelism, 其实more than是作为double的副词出现的，例如这句话中的作用：The exchange rate of US dollar has been more than doubled.

明白了这一点以后，再来看选项就比较明晰了：

A：Retail sales rose 0.8 of 1 percent in August, intensifying expectations that personal spending in the July-September quarter more than doubled that of the 1.4 percent growth rate in personal spending for the previous quarter.
提炼一下：主句（Retail sales rose 0.8 of 1 percent in August）, 从句表结果（intensifying expectations that PS2 doubled that of the growth rate in PS1）
因为PS1和PS2在句子里面都已经出现过了，“that of”没有东西可以指代，而且double应该用于形容growth rate，此外OG上说到因为这个double rate的事情涉及到的expectation是conditional的，所以应该使用would double，而非doubled，所以A是错误i的。

除了, D选项的最大问题是
expectation of personal spending doubling =/ expectation that personal spending would double

楼主你看下OG13关于这题的解释吧，D选项的解释是: Although this option is not technically wrong, it is less clear and graceful than (B)，意思是D选项是没有错误的。。。
我想问的是，如果D选项没有错误，相比B选项中多出来的that of，THAT指代什么？？？
