这是OG上的一道题，当时我看解析的时候是说ING结构，在句中可以向前或向后修饰，不好。

但是PREP里说到，在S，Ving,v,0结构中，ving约定俗成修饰v，做伴随状语。

那这道题是不是就是因为主语与ing结构中间多了一个介词短语，导致可以向前或向后修饰的呢？

LZ是想问A吧？？？coordinating向前作定语修饰了illustrations, 逻辑上应该是修饰potter但是太远了；即使coordinating修饰illustrations也不合逻辑，illustrations coordinate them with narratives，them无指代。你说的那个S，ving，VO....——是把ving直接夹在了主谓之间啦。。。。。一般再加一些其他成分混进来，都会导致歧义修饰滴。。。

Avoid long sequences of modifiers that modify the same noun. Putting two long modifiers in a row before or after a noun can lead to awkward or incorrect phrasings.

这里的两个修饰就是介词短语和ING形式吧？

呀~原来是接线板mm...

是的，当连续出现两个修饰语，而这两个修饰语之间并没有明确的逻辑关联时候，句子是awkward的，manhattan管这个叫back to back modifier.
C之所以对是因为which明确了逻辑关系，虽然连续两个修饰语但是逻辑关系是清晰的，所以没问题。
