下面这个题 OG17 748

答案选B是没问题的，只是想问一下有关D和E选项里面关于applying的修饰问题。OG解释上说这个applying的主语变成了many house builders，也就是applying相当于跨过which限定语直接修饰了主句。所以想问一下当这个结构时主句, which......, Ving..... 这个Ving是一定跨过which限定语，直接修饰主句吗？还是根据意思来。

主句，which....，Ving... 这种结构to date, no official key answer 是含有这种结构的。原因很简单，comma Ving 应该修饰comma 前的clause, 而这种非限制性的从句在这里是以插入语的形式出现的 (换句话说按照插入语的定义的话，应该是去掉后不会对原本的句意产生影响。)

这里去掉comma which 这个从句之后, comma Ving 修饰的部分便发生了改变，从修饰comma 前的那个 which-clause 变成了修饰主句了（这就是OG的解释想要说的话，但是奈何OG的解释实在是太戳，每次重要的话都说一半

）
