句子主语为EM， 谓语为predate and resemble,以及is therefore thought to be...，因此句子的时态要用一般现在时，both...and...连接两个动词做谓语，EM为单数，所以要用both predates and resembles。C选项虽然动词平行了，但时态不一致，也是错误的。
