Magoosh Instructor: Choice (C) awkwardly changes the meaning. If Dowling was celebrated "more than a few composer", that would imply that Dowling was more than a few, but less than most, so he would be toward the bottom of the pack. That's not what the sentence is trying to say. Therefore, (C) is wrong.

原文的意思是说这个作曲家的作品像极少数的作曲家一样被广泛歌颂表彰，愿意是表扬他的lyric writing的水平高，如果选C就变成了这个作曲家的作品得到的称赞表扬比极少数的作曲家的多，说明他只是比极少数的作曲家水平高，隐含之意为比大多数的人水平低，所以意思变成了对他批评，和作者意思不符，因此这道题应该选B。

我不是NN，以上是我的个人见解，仅供参考。一般来说原文的语义是不能随意变动的
