1）对于A选项解释如下：

Because sloth is the object of a preposition and not the subject of the sentence, there is no reasonable antecedent for the pronoun it ;in this construction, the subject of made is fossils, but it makes no sense to say that the fossils made it the earliest known mammal.

对于这段解释，我很不明白

前面SLOTH是单数，后面的IT 自然指代的就是前面出现过的单数名词，即SLOTH,为什么说没有antecedent？

2）对于D选项有2个小问题

(a)making the sloth the earliest kown mammal on 。。应该是ING分词做状语表示结果吧～一般的表示时间的什么的，主语都是主句的主语，那这个表示结果的ING分词短语它的逻辑主语是什么？

(b)GMAT语法要求不能改变句子的原来意思吧，那个原来意思应该值得就是A选项所表达的意思么，如果是这样，所谓的正确答案D把 A的补充成分and dated at 34 million years old改作了句子的主要成分have been dated at 34 million years old。这样是不是就是把原来的意思改变了呢，这样可以么

1.这个人说,sloth不是这个句子的主语,真正的主语应该是Fossils,所以it就失去了指代的对象.应该用they才是

2.ing分词短语做状语确切地说应该是修饰前面整句话,逻辑主语是整件事,而不仅仅是前面主句的主语.

没改变句意,只是整理了一下逻辑顺序.

1.个人感觉，正因为前面出现了两个单数名词，所以必须得指明到底是哪一个。

2.根据句子意思看，不应该arm是mammal，而应该是sloth。删除所有的修饰成分，句子成了:fossils made it... 所以从这个角度而言，it最好替换为sloth

对于A选项
仔细读一下这个句子，全局的主语都是 Fossils，不是sloth。made it ... 也就意味着 Fossils made it ... , 这样一来从意义上就讲不过去了，因为不是Fossil make sloth the ealist...， 而是前面的整个句子（...found... and date... 这件事）make sloth the earlist....
不是因为不知道it到底指代 arm 、sloth中哪一个而错的，是因为根本就讲不通（make no sense）

Fossil 是复数，这个题其实就是根据单复数一致来做的
