第一题为什么不用过去式就好~the year还没有过去吧~
第二题没有activates的原因是thereby后面接原型吗？

这题我也翻了一些论坛，目前我没有找到更好的解答，暂时采纳earlier in the year作为时间标记，用过去完成时

所以相当于省略了to是吧~非常非常感谢答疑~
