应该选什么啊？理由？
下面我自己的分析 DE排除因为indicate that
C排除因为their指代不清，代词要指代中心词
B排除，a ratio that这里做同位语，但是跟谁同位啊？前面没有说什么比率啊
所以我选A
而且我查过 lonman 说 an average of 是可以的。
但是看别人的分析总结和答案对不上。

这道题答案是C 这是PREP里第132题你去看一下PREP破题解吧那个比较详细清楚

我是这样分析的：A项中，compared to 为-ed动词形式，优先考虑作定语，修饰workers, 这与实际逻辑意思不符
C项中，as compared to .... 这个是状语从句的省略形式，它必定是省略了相同的主语，而且要跟随主句的主语，那么就会变成CEO is compared to 42 times their pay. 同时their 确实指代不清
至于D、E项，正如LZ所想的那样，通过宾语从句that 不能省这一原则即可排除。。。

首先是as compared to, 而不是compared to，其主语是前面的pay，而不是ceo。
其次，their就近指代前面的worker，且意思也是和原文意思相符的，所指代不清有些牵强。

B的问题我觉得有两个
1.a ratio compares to 应该是被动，ratio不会自己去和别的比较
2.其次a ratiothat compares to 42 times in 1980 感觉怪怪的，42 times什么都没有就直接接年份
比较的两边是a ration 和42 times in 1980，不平行。

BC都有问题，但B的问题更加致命，所以相对C要好一些

对于你说的那个42 percent, 我认为这儿应该是承前省略哦
这种现象存在的我看到过类似的题目：
A collection of 38 poems by Phillis Wheatley, a slave, was published in the 1770's, the first book by a Black woman and only the second published by an American woman.
这个是正确答案。
其中second是承接前面相同的名词（the first book)的省略。

不知道这样类比会不会比较清楚？

还有就是我查到有这种用法说a ratio 或者其他指数之类的compares to ...

e.g.Hong Kong's health index compares favourably with that of most developed countries.
估计这是比较生动的用法 ==
